Ruth Rogers Named 2021 IndyBar Paralegal of the Year

Woodard Emhardt is pleased to share that Ruth Rogers was named 2021 IndyBar Paralegal of the Year.

Ms. Rogers was honored with the award at the IndyBar Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, October 5th at the Embassy Suites. Ms. Rogers has worked in the legal industry for more than 50 years. Ms. Rogers joined Woodard Emhardt in 1997 and is Manager of our “Formalities Department”. This centralizes: (a) interacting with our foreign law firm associates to obtain international patent and trademark rights; (b) complex docketing (U.S. and foreign); and, (c) quality control.

Ms. Rogers takes it upon herself to provide exceptional support and service to new attorneys and staff. She discerns quickly their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations, or direction. Fondly known as the ‘go-to’ for most things foreign at our firm, Ms. Rogers receives calls regularly from international associates at law firms throughout the world.

In addition to her work as Manager of our Formalities Department, Ms. Rogers gives back to her community. Over the years, she has served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, choir director, and singles ministry coordinator (a ministry that provides insight into ‘single-ness’ for widows, divorcees, and individuals who’ve never been married) both in her home church and at a statewide level. Through these many activities with her church, Ms. Rogers has taken many “lost” people under her wings, especially children and young adults, all mostly not related to her.

Ms. Rogers is a key member of the Woodard Emhardt team and we thank her for her loyalty and dedication to our firm and the community. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Rogers on this well-deserved honor.
