His clients range from startups to mid-size tech companies, as well as large corporations navigating the ever-changing tech landscape as it relates to intellectual property.
Jeremy has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and abroad, with a particular focus on software-driven innovations, AI technologies, and agricultural advancements. His technical expertise spans artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, including neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, and automated decision-making platforms. He regularly works with clients developing complex network security applications, autonomous systems, hybrid drive technologies, advanced video capture and processing solutions, electronic gaming platforms, IoT devices, radio communications systems, sophisticated telematics solutions for connected vehicles and industrial equipment, and innovations in agri-tech.
Beyond traditional patent and trademark work, Jeremy helps clients navigate complex IP-related licensing and commercial agreements. This includes structuring IP contracts, software and trademark licensing, SaaS platform development and access agreements, data-sharing and training agreements, API licensing terms, privacy compliance frameworks, franchising agreements and registrations, branding strategies, and consulting agreements for technology and agricultural development partnerships.
In litigation and dispute resolution, Jeremy assists clients in avoiding costly patent and trademark battles while protecting their software, AI, and branded innovations. He helps invalidate competitor patents and trademarks through court proceedings and Inter Partes Review (IPR) processes, provides freedom-to-operate analyses for software deployments, AI implementations, and branded product launches, and delivers infringement, validity, and competitive landscape opinions. His proactive strategies help clients monitor competitor activities and develop defensive IP portfolios around their core technologies and brands.
Jeremy’s technical background as a former software engineer, development manager, and senior technology consultant provides invaluable insight into his legal practice. He built and supported web-based platforms for e-commerce, business intelligence, email marketing automation, and insurance services, giving him firsthand understanding of the software development lifecycle, scalability challenges, commercial deployment considerations, and branding imperatives that inform his IP strategies.
As Chair of the Firm’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Working Group, Jeremy leads initiatives to help clients understand the evolving legal landscape around AI technologies, including patent and trademark eligibility considerations, data privacy implications, and emerging regulatory frameworks affecting AI development and deployment.
