Of Counsel
With over 40 years of trial experience in both state and federal courts, Steve has distinguished himself in the courtroom trying the damages portion of the case, including lost profit and reasonable royalty based damages recoveries. His trial work includes a wide range of patent and intellectual property cases in the areas of medical devices, automotive, industrial machines, and computer implemented systems and products. Steve also provides strategic intellectual property asset valuations for licensing and enforcement situations and executing plans designed to produce proper compensation to inventors to realize the fruits of their inventions.
In 2003, Steve was appointed Honorary Consul for the Slovak Republic. His consulate area includes the States of Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. He has traveled extensively throughout Central Europe, speaks Slovak, and is active in assisting Indiana companies in developing business ties there.
Prior to joining the Firm, Steve served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana from 1977 to 1981, and was the chief attorney in the Environmental Section. Earlier, he obtained technical experience as a product engineer with Sheller-Globe Corp., an automotive parts manufacturer located in Union City, Indiana.
Steve has been an active member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and served as chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.
